Camera Setup:
🔎 FUJINON AX77 9.5mm-732mm - 2x Extender
📹 ARRI Amira + B4 mount

  • Codec: ProRes 4444

  • Frame rate: 25 FPS

  • White balance: Approx. 5600K

  • ND filter: 2.1

  • T Stops: Constant around T5 to avoid ramping at long zoom values

Why did you choose to use a broadcast lens for this project?

I came up with the idea of using a broadcast lens because I wanted to have the biggest zoom range available and adaptable to a cine camera. I chose the Amira for two very simple reasons: it has a native B4 mount option and, most of all, an Ethernet port that allows the lens to be controlled via a CyanView device (otherwise it doesn't communicate with the camera body).

How did the setup perform during the shoot?

I'm really glad with the result — it is far from perfect, but it was what I expected from using such a lens. Such zoom ranges sacrifice sharpness, especially with the doubler activated and the B4 mount...
