Filters used (ND or others): Filters were mostly unused though I did reach for a circular polariser,
a choice use of a Tiffen Red filter to colour wash the tunnel scene and the occasional Soft/FX
when I wanted to take the edge off.
I’ve been following your work for a while and often recognize your wide-angle portraits, usually with fast, dynamic movements. Could you tell us when you decide to use that approach, and what the idea behind it?
Simply, I’ve always loved wide lenses and framing with a wide focal length. I think it comes from my preferences in photography and art and a real intense desire to see the environment with the character in it.
I love context and it’s always felt more intuitive for me to stay wide and move the camera close rather than go long for a close up but there’s no real strict rule I follow.
I also noticed you used the ARRI Signature Zooms. Why did you choose them for this project?
