Can you walk us through how you pulled off that shot technically?
It was actually pretty straightforward. We didn’t have a grip on set since it was a small production, so my First AC, Kevin, came up with a simple solution. He taped the shoe onto a universal cheese plate and mounted it using two ULCS arms and two Nano clamps directly onto the camera rods. That was pretty much all the magic.
On the day, I just had to find the right angle to position the shoe inside the box so our talent could open it and take it out. He had to be really careful, though. The carpet tape holding it wasn’t very strong. But after a few tries,
we nailed the shot and moved on.
