In the opening of the film we see a daylight shot with very pronounced grain. Which film stock did you use, and what led you to that choice?
That was on 500T processed normally, which actually wouldn’t have been my first choice for that specific scenario, but we had a lot of different locations that day so we wanted something that was a bit more sensitive than 250D. I think it ended up working just fine — 7219 has incredible latitude and allowed us to get a lot of shadow detail, which was the priority for this project since we really wanted to showcase the intricacies of the textiles and LaQuan’s attention to detail.
How did you find the performance of the Canon 7–63mm on the Aaton XTR?
